Panini? What exactly is a panini?
Updated: Nov 28, 2021
We have been open for about two weeks now and people have asked what is a panini? No, it's not an exotic breed of dog; nor an Italian clothing designer. Panini, in Italian, means sandwich. As in yummy fresh focaccia roll filled with Porchetta, for instance, and Provolone cheese and popped into the panini press to warm up the insides and melt that cheese just a bit. Oh, and those grill marks! Technically speaking, one sandwich is called a panino, it is plural if you say panini.
Panini are often a mid-morning snack in Italy, as they have eaten a large dinner quite late the night before and just had a quick cappuccino for breakfast. At Autentico Sapore Italiano, we serve our panini with salad that you may choose to stuff into your panino or eat on the side with our blend of balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. Whichever way you choose, please stop by and try one of our six different panini. Ciao!
